NYLATRON^® is a brand name that dates back to Polypenco, when DSM acquired Polypenco and Erta the brand names were reviewed and consolidated. The majority of Nylon products were branded ERTALON^® but the most established Polypenco brands such as NYLATRON^® were kept.

In certain applications, the performance of Nylon 6.6 can be enhanced by the incorporation of fillers. Nylatron GS contains a measured quantity of molybdenum disulphide. This results in better wear resistance, stiffness, tensile strength and temperature resistance, however its toughness and impact strength are reduced.
