marlon st LONGLIFE Multi-wall Polycarbonate

Engineering & Design Plastics Ltd stock / supply Brett Martin's Marlon ST Longlife Multi-wall Polycarbonate sheet. Marlon ST Longlife is available with two, three, five and seven wall construction. Marlon ST Longlife multi-wall sheet provides excellent thermal insulation, as well as a UV protected surface to resist yellowing. This makes multi-wall polycarbonate sheet ideal for all kinds of roof glazing applications, from green houses and conservatories to factories.

Marlon ST Longlife multi-wall sheet, due to its' stucture has a very high stiffness to weight ratio, it is very light, yet offers extremely high impact strength, minimizing the risk of breakage due to hailstorms or dislodged roof tiles. As the sheet weight is very low, support structures need not be as heavy as in the case of traditional roofing materials. This in turn offers savings in structure and installation costs. 10mm and 16mm thick sheet can be cold formed to provide curved glazing for barrel vaults or canopies.

Glazing methods for polycarbonate differ from those normally used for glass, because of its greater thermal expansion and flexibility. Care must be taken that products used are compatible with polycarbonate (EPDM - or Neoprene rubbers, never plasticized PVC). Not all silicone sealants are suitable. Low modulus silicone with a neutral cure should be used.

Warranty
Brett Martin's multi-wall polycarbonate has a 10 year limited warranty. See downloads at foot of page.

Fire Performance
Marlon ST Longlife 10mm, 16mm, 25mm and 35mm thick Polycarbonate sheets have been tested to BS476: Part 7 and been classified 1Y.

Marlon st Longlife 10mm, 16mm, 25mm and 35mm thick Polycarbonate sheets have also been tested to the European standard EN13501-01 and classified B-s1,d0

Installation
Applications of Multi-wall Polycarbonate must make adequate allowance for thermal movement, nominally 3.5mm per metre.

Service Temperature
Multi-wall Polycarbonate can be installed in a diversity of applications, with varying temperatures. The material’s mechanical performance is known to remain stable in prolonged service in temperatures ranging from –20oC to +100oC.
